The collection consists of a letter from Lachlan McIntosh, Darien, Georgia dated October 1, 1774 to his son Jack McIntosh in Jamaica. The letter gives news of the McIntosh family in detail, expresses concern over Jack's welfare, and gives advice on how Jack should conduct himself.
